Toge Game Fund InitiativeGot some cool game ideas?
Up to USD 10,000
During the Flash game era, small developers in Southeast Asia flourished with the help of game sponsorships. These sponsorships help new teams experiment and iterate their ideas while minimizing their risks. Unfortunately, the Flash sponsorship era is now gone. In order to help marginalized and underrepresented game developers of Southeast Asia turn their game ideas into reality, we need to provide a safety net for them to experiment and iterate, similar to the Flash sponsorship era. This is the reason Toge Productions is launching Toge Game Fund Initiative.

Frequently Asked Questions______________________________________________________________________________________
Q: Toge is basically giving away money, what’s the catch?
A: There’s no catch during the development process! Toge only request to have the Right of First Refusal to publish the fully developed game. Note that this does NOT mean that Toge have the exclusive right to publish the fully developed game.
Q: What do you mean by Toge having the Right of First Refusal?
A: By having the Right of First Refusal, Toge will have the first chance to offer the developer a publishing deal before other publishers. This publishing offer is completely separate from TGFI and will be discussed by both parties when the time comes.
Q: What will be the ownership status of my product/IP?
A: You as the developer will still own 100% of your product/IP.
Q: How long will the funding program last?
A: The duration of the funding program will be determined by an agreement between you as the developer and Toge, based on the project’s timeline and scope.
Q: Other than the funding, what else will Toge provide? Will Toge be involved in the development process of the project?
A: In addition to the funding, Toge will provide consultation & mentorship, project management assistance, as well as testing & feedback. You will have full control over your project.
Q: Can you explain the process of the funding program?
A: The fund will be granted in installments based on milestones that the developer and Toge had agreed upon. Toge will decide whether to continue the funding or not based on the project status and deliverables on each milestone. If Toge decided to not continue the funding, the developer is NOT required to pay the fund back.
Q: Do I have to provide collateral to be eligible for this program?
Q: If Toge decided to not continue the funding, can I still continue the project? Can I find another publisher?
A: Of course!
Q: Can I enter other funding programs in addition to TGFI?
A: Yes, as long it does not conflict with our terms
Q: Do we need to be a legally registered company/studio if we were to sign up for this?
A: No, you don’t have to 🙂
Q: Do I have to use Unity for my project?
A: You are free to use any game engine for your project. Toge primarily uses Unity so we will be able to provide more help and assistance if you use Unity as well.
Q: What happens if there’s a change in the development team and/or IP ownership in the middle of the project?
A: Toge will assess any changes and decide what should be done on a case-by-case basis.
Q: Does it have to be a digital video game? Can I pitch a board game?
A: Currently we only accept digital games
Q: Does the project have to be in English?
A: As we focus more on the premium global market, we prefer the game to be in English. After the TGFI funding period, Toge can offer a full publishing deal for the completed game, which can include assistance for localization to multiple languages.
Q: Do I have to pay taxes regarding the funding?
A: It depends on your region or country’s law and regulations.
Q: I want to bring my game to consoles, but I don’t have any devkits, can Toge help? How about mobile?
A: After the TGFI funding period, Toge can offer a full publishing deal for the completed game, which can include console and mobile ports, which we will assist with.
Q: I want to support this program by contributing to the fund, who should I contact?
A: For any other questions you can contact us at email@example.com.
