Hi everyone!
How are you folks doing? You might be surprised to see this out of nowhere update from us. To start, we would like to announce that we will be sending you updates on what we are doing, the events we are going, and of course the progress of the games we are developing or publishing. Each update will come in a longform post, but we assure you that we will not spam your emails with too many useless stuff you don’t want to hear. So, without further ado, let’s get into the premier edition of Toge News Flash.
Wait, who the hell are you?
Ah, please pardon me for the sudden and quick introduction. I am Fahmi, from Toge Productions. I will be the guy that you can contact if you want to connect with us, and also the one that will be responsible for the contents of Toge News Flash.
In case you are still confused about who Toge Productions is, you might remember some of our games, such as Infectonator, Days 2 Die, Necronator, a few other Flash games, and various Indonesian indie games. If you receive this email, big chances you’ve joined one of our game’s mailing list via our website or during gaming events and expos. Whichever way you get here, I, representing the whole Toge Productions, cannot thank you enough for your willingness to register your email for the mailing list. If you haven’t do so, please do not hesitate to register below.
So, that’s about us. Now, let’s start with the news and stuff!
As announced in the blog post we published earlier this year, starting 2017, Toge Productions is expanding into indie game publishing. Aside from Infectonator 3: Apocalypse that we are developing in-house, we are also publishing seven indie games from Indonesia, one of them is already out on Steam since August, while the rest will be available throughout 2018. Below are the updates from three of them. We will cover more of them in the future edition of Toge News Flash.
MagiCat
On August 22th, 2017 we released our first game as an indie publisher. The game is MagiCat, developed by the solo developer from the city of Surabaya, Kucing Rembes. The easiest way to describe the game is to call it Super Mario World with cats.
You play as a nameless cat adventuring the vast magical world that consists of 63 levels and against 64 bosses to beat. The game also features 16-bit era pixel art graphics, retro style music, and clever level and boss design.
Ultra Space Battle Brawl
Ultra Space Battle Brawl is a couch-party game that can be easily described as Pong on steroids. The game mixes sports, fighting, and over-the-top 1980s aesthetic.
We brought Ultra Space Battle Brawl to many events considering how effective the game is to be used to attract crowds. The game itself is planning to be released early next year for Nintendo Switch before going to PC and other consoles a few months after that.
Infectonator 3: Apocalypse
This one is probably the game that most of Toge Productions’ followers are waiting for. Right now the game is still in development, but we are getting close to the final phase and polishing of the game. Hopefully, if everything went well, the game can be released before the middle of next year. It will be available on PC via Steam.
The number of stuff we are going to release also means that we need to introduce it to more people in various regions, which brought us to some events across Asia for the past few months.
Below are some documentation from the shows we’ve been involved in for the past few months across Jakarta, Busan, Tokyo, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur.
We also have a good news from Level UP KL that was held recently. Three of the games we have were nominated and won some categories of SEA Games Awards. Having our own games competing between each other is a big honor and was such a surreal experience!
We are so proud of She and the Light Bearer for being nominated for Best Visual, Best Audio, and Best Story Award! And congrats to My Lovely Daughter for being nominated for the Best Story and won Best Visual Art Award! Last but not least… Congratulations to Infectonator 3: Apocalypse for winning Best Gameplay Awards and Grand Jury Awards!
Future events
That was the events we were involved in for the past few months. How about the future events? Soon, we are flying back to Busan, South Korea for G-STAR 2017 that will happen from 16th to 19th November 2017. After that, we will wrap all the expos mongering activities for the year and will return with more polished games early next year. Until then, you can still see us around digitally on our social media. If you want to get updates from us regularly, you can sign up in the subscription form below.
